Apparently, it’s the…
10th Anniversary of Lee Seung Gi’s Debut!
I have watched this boy-turned-man develop so much and yet remain so steadfastly incredible for almost seven of those ten years.
He’s a powerful and emotive singer, but not the best — he’s funny, but not the wittiest — he’s a good actor (sometimes great), but not yet near the top…
But he always puts his 120% into everything, and I think very few can match up to his dogged perseverance, humility, and heart. Just reading his interviews can be a humbling experience, because even at the pinnacle of popularity he is someone who says, “I look to the far-off future, 30 or 40 years from now, and see where I want to be then,” or “You can’t fake an image and last long — you have to actually be the person you want to seem.”
Also, he publicly named one person as his “ideal woman” for three consecutive years… and then ended up dating her. How can you not love someone like that?!
(Plus, I always think it’s such a pity people don’t recognize him for his singing skills. It’s a bias, because of his image. He’s not an R&B rockstar like a lot of other solo male singers, either. But damn, his live performances kill. Goddamm it.)
You can always put your faith in him to try hard in everything, meet every challenge, and constantly continue to grow. I’ve learned a lot in following him as a fan through the years — and I’m proud to call myself a fan! (It cheapens it when people naturally assume I’m just crushing on him. T_T)
Here’s to ten more years of a successful, brilliant career.
